Common test methods of lightning protection component tester

1. Conventional method (recommended)

set the "varistor/discharge tube" selection switch to low (discharge tube) "single/continuous" switch to high (single), and connect the test object as described in 4.2.1

press the "high voltage start stop" key, turn on the high voltage and then press the "test key", the test voltage rises from the preset voltage value at the rate of 100v/s until the green indicator light is on. At this time, the display shows that the voltage is the ignition voltage of the discharge tube under test

2. Screening method

a) "varistor/discharge tube" selection switch is set to the low position (discharge tube), "single/continuous" switch is set to the high position (single time), and adjust the "voltage preset" knob clockwise to the end (maximum). Press the "high voltage start/stop" key to turn on the high voltage, the high voltage indicator light is on, and the display shows the maximum power output of the lightning protection component tester, but for covestro, the voltage value. Adjust the "high pressure limit" knob to the required value (upper limit value of test range). Then adjust the "voltage preset" knob to select the required voltage value (lower limit value of test range)

b) connect the tested discharge tube to the test line and press the "high voltage start stop" key. If the buzzer sounds and gives an audible warning, it means that the ignition voltage vsdc value of the tested discharge tube is less than the "voltage preset" value (the lower limit of the over range). At this time, turn off the high voltage in time and remove the tested object, otherwise it will be ignited repeatedly. If the buzzer does not sound, it means that the ignition voltage vsdc value of the tested discharge tube is greater than the value of "voltage pre recheck the installation accuracy of the experimental machine". Click "test" to continue the next operation

c) after clicking the "test" button, the test voltage rises from the preset voltage at the rate of 100v/s. After the green indicator light is on:

(1) if the buzzer does not sound, the lightning protection element tester display will display the ignition voltage value of the tested discharge tube within the measurement range

(2) if the buzzer rings, the lightning protection element tester display will display the upper limit of the measurement range. At this time, it means that the ignition voltage vsdc value of the tested object is greater than the upper limit of the measurement range (upper limit of over range) and there is no ignition. At this time, it is necessary to increase the "upper limit of test range" and repeat the test again

the green indicator light turns on and the display value generated synchronously (there is a beep when the range is exceeded) disappears automatically for about 2 seconds, and then returns to the preset state

remove the tested discharge tube when the green indicator light is on, and connect the discharge tube to be tested for the next test after the preset voltage is restored
