Current situation of China's printing ink market (2)

IV. color standard licensing

with the development of China's ink industry, the color standard of domestic ink is gradually approaching the universally recognized American Pantone standard. As of July, 2003, some ink production enterprises in China, such as Tianjin Toyo, Shenzhen shenri, Hangzhou HANGHUA, Shanghai DIC, Tianjin Yunxing and Zhongshan Youcheng, have officially obtained the concession of Pantone color standard in the United States, which undoubtedly creates extremely favorable conditions for China's ink industry to be in line with international standards and domestic inks to further move towards the world. It is reported that more than ten domestic enterprises have recently proposed to participate in the certification of Pantone ink color standard in the United States

v. calculation of ink consumption

the consumption of ink in China was 22.00, 24.21 and 274600 tons in 2001, 2002 and 2003, respectively. The sales in 2015 reached 3.4 billion US dollars and 274600 tons. The year-on-year growth of ink consumption in 2002 and 2003 was 10.05% and 13.42% respectively. Paper and paperboard are the most basic and main substrate used in today's printing industry. The average ink consumption of paper and paperboard in China was 5.97 kg/ton in 2001, 5.59 kg/ton in 2002 and 5.71 kg/ton in 2003, and the comprehensive average for three years was 5.76 kg/ton, that is, for each ton of paper and paperboard consumed, 5.76 kg ink is required to match it in order to meet the requirements. According to the "Tenth Five Year Plan" of the paper industry, by the end of 2005, China's paper and paperboard production will achieve a revolution in the display industry of 39.2 million tons, and the per capita annual consumption level will increase to 34 ~ 38 kg. In fact, in 2003, the total production of paper and woven board in China has reached 41.1688 million tons, with a per capita consumption of 37 kg. According to the per capita consumption level of 38 kg of 1.3 billion people, by the end of the tenth five year plan, the total consumption of paper and paperboard in China will reach 49.4 million tons, and there should be about 284500 tons of ink consumption to match it

in terms of the development of printing enterprises, the total number of printing enterprises in China will reach about 106000 by the end of 2005, with a growth rate of 17.75%. In recent three years (2001, 2002, 2003), the average annual consumption level of ink in China is 245600 tons/year. If the growth rate of ink consumption is synchronized with or slightly higher than that of the number of printing enterprises, it is estimated that by the end of 2005, the consumption level of ink in China will reach more than 289200 tons/year. Looking at another set of data from another angle, the total industrial output value of China's printing enterprises is expected to grow at an average annual rate of not less than 7.7% of the national economic development rate. Based on this, the demand for printing ink in the printing industry will reach more than 318500 tons/year by the end of 2005. The arithmetic mean of the results from three different angles is 297400 tons/year, close to 300000 tons/year. It can be inferred that the consumption level of ink in China should be more than 300000 tons/year by the end of 2005

VI. broad prospects for the future

it is gratifying that China's inks have not only continued to grow steadily in recent years, but also have broad prospects for the future. At present, the per capita consumption level of printed matter in China is less than 1/20 of that in developed countries. The per capita consumption of paper and paperboard has hovered around the 50th to 60th in the world in recent years, and the per capita share of ink has a greater gap compared with the world's advanced level. This gap just shows that China's market has great development potential, which will be gradually activated with the sustained and stable development of China's national economy, forming a huge driving force to promote market development. At present, in addition to increasing the output, the production of printing ink in China should pay more attention to avoiding low-level repeated construction, strengthening the adjustment of industrial structure, strengthening the research and development of products, improving the concentration of production, improving the scientific and technological content of products, increasing varieties, improving grades, improving quality and improving the stability of quality and product uniformity, so as to make it suitable for today's multi-color, high-speed, fast drying Pollution free and low consumption modern printing needs. In order to improve the overall level of printing ink in China as soon as possible, meet the needs of the developing printing industry in China, and further enhance the competitiveness of domestic printing ink in the international market
